It should be remarked that Sunak already used the phrase "rightful place" when referring to Ukraine in NATO last month in Kishinev at the European Political Community (EPC) summit. The UK government reports in its official statement that Sunak and Biden have discussed the course of the counteroffensive in Ukraine and stressed the importance of its international partners making commitments concerning long-term defence, "?upplying the aid Ukraine needs to win this war and facilitate fair and long-lasting peace". The discussion of Ukraine's NATO membership is connected with the NATO summit, which will be held in Vilnius on 11-12 July.
