Russia received a new batch of Su-35 fighter jets
13 July, 2023 Russian Su-35S fighter jet takes off from KnAAPO airfield, July 2023 The Russian Gagarin Aircraft Manufacturing Association produced this year's second batch of Su-35S fighter jets and handed it over to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The Russian media reported this.
According to the company's representatives, the Su-35S fighter jets underwent a full cycle of ground and flight tests in various operating modes and flew from the manufacturer's airfield to the place of permanent deployment. The number of aircraft transferred to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in this batch is not reported, but the released video captured the takeoff of two planes.
This is already the second batch of Su-35S fighter jets, handed over by the Gagarin Aircraft Manufacturing Association to the Russian Ministry of Defense in 2023. In June, Militarnyi reported on transferring the first batch of two aircraft. In 2022, the aircraft plant handed over seven Su-35S fighter jets to the Russian Aerospace Forces - three in September and four in December.
The transferred Su-35C fighter jets were manufactured within the framework of the fourth contract signed by the UAC in 2021 to supply Su-35S fighter jets to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The increase in the pace of production of combat aircraft is explained by the fact that the State Corporation for Assistance to Development, Production, and Export of Advanced Technology Industrial Product Rostec modernized its facilities and invested money in training its specialists. The company's employees are currently working three shifts. "In some areas, we have doubled the number of combat aircraft that we produce for the Ministry of Defense.
These are the Su-30, Su-34, Su-35 -- they are very effective on the front line," said Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec.
