Ukrainian volunteers launched a fundraising campaign for UAVs for the Defense Intelligence

The Serhiy Prytula Foundation announced the "Detect - Destroy" fundraising campaign to purchase unmanned aerial complexes for the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. The press service of the Foundation reported this on its social media pages. Within the project, the Foundation plans to use the funds raised to purchase five EOS C VTOL UAVs.

A total of five ground control stations and 15 UAVs are to be transferred. The cost of unmanned systems and related equipment is UAH 120 million. Funds are planned to be collected over a week.

Reconnaissance drones will be transferred to be used by the DIU's assault special forces, which already have experience with these UAVs.

EOS C VTOL

EOS C VTOL is a reconnaissance drone with a fixed-wing developed by an Estonian company Threod Systems. It is also equipped with vertical take-off and landing capabilities.

The maximum range of an unmanned aircraft is 120 kilometers, but the operational radius is limited to 50 kilometers due to the communication range. The drone's cruising speed is 70 km/h. It is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 110 km/h.

The drone's length is almost 2 meters, with a wingspan of about five. The UAVs are equipped with an electric motor that provides limited acoustic visibility even at low flight altitudes. EOS C VTOL is equipped with a powerful optical sensor which allows it to perform reconnaissance within a 50-km radius.

The drone camera can record enemy equipment in detail at a distance of up to 15 kilometers under good weather conditions. Based on the experience of its use in the war against Russia, the drone demonstrated high resistance to enemy EW countermeasures and safety during vertical takeoff and landing. In the summer, Lithuania purchased six drones for Ukraine, paying almost EUR1 million for them.

Then, the Lithuanian presenter Andrius Tapinas noted that EUR 990,000 were spent on six drones, that is, the cost of one is about EUR 165,000.
