Heavy fighting continues on 5 fronts, 30 combat clashes in a day – General Staff report

The defence forces continue to conduct an offensive operation on the Melitopol and Berdiansk fronts, while the Russians are concentrating their main efforts on the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka fronts; heavy fighting continues. As a result of successful combat operations by the forces and means of air defence of the Air Force, all five attack UAVs were destroyed. In addition, the Russians carried out 4 missile- and 36 airstrikes and carried out 23 attacks from multiple rocket launchers on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. There are victims among the civilian population; residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed.

Russia continues to focus its main efforts on the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka fronts; heavy battles are ongoing.

About 30 combat engagements occurred over the course of the day. The operational situation on the Volyn and Polissia fronts remains much the same as before. There is no evidence that Russia is forming offensive units there.

Certain units of the Armed Forces of Belarus perform tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine. Russia continues to maintain its forces on the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts. Its units carried out an airstrike on Veterynarne, Kharkiv Oblast.

Russians carried out mortar and artillery shelling of more than 15 settlements, in particular, Tymonovychi (Chernihiv Oblast); Seredyna-Buda, Uhroidy, Riasne (Sumy Oblast), and Kozacha Lopan, Strilecha, Ternova, Budarky (Kharkiv Oblast).

On the Kupiansk front, Ukrainian soldiers are firmly holding the defence. Kamianka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kupiansk and Kyslivka of Kharkiv Oblast were subjected to Russian artillery and mortar attacks. On the Lyman front, the Russian forces conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the areas of Nadiia of Luhansk Oblast and Torske, Hryhorivka of Donetsk Oblast.

They carried out airstrikes in the area of Serebrianskyi Forest and Spirne of Donetsk Oblast. The settlements of Nevske, Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast and Torske, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka in Donetsk Oblast were hit by artillery fire. On the Bakhmut front, under heavy Russian artillery fire, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled Russian attacks in Bohdanivka and Ivanivske of Donetsk Oblast.

More than 10 settlements, including Vasiukivka, Markove, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Kostiantynivka, Druzhba and New-York (Donetsk Oblast), were affected by Russian artillery shelling. On the Avdiivka front, under heavy fire from Russian aircraft and artillery, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled attacks by Russian troops in Avdiivka. The Russians carried out an airstrike on Sieverne of Donetsk Oblast.

At the same time, they carried out artillery fire on more than 10 settlements, in particular Avdiivka, Pervomaiske and Nevelske. On the Marinka front, the Defence Forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops in Krasnohorivka and Marinka of Donetsk Oblast. In the vicinity of Krasnohorivka, the Russians carried out an air strike.

They shelled more than 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Maksymilianivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka, and Pobieda in Donetsk Oblast. On the Shakhtarsk front, Russians conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the vicinity of Novomykhailivka (Donetsk Oblast). The occupiers also conducted an airstrike near Blahodatne in Donetsk Oblast.

They shelled more than 10 settlements, including Paraskoviivka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar and Blahodatne in Donetsk Oblast. On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson fronts, Russia is concentrating its main efforts on preventing the further advance of Ukrainian troops. They made unsuccessful attempts to restore the lost position in the area south of Novodarivka, Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Russian troops carried out airstrikes on Huliaipilske, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka and Piatykhatky of Zaporizhzhia Oblast. More than 25 settlements were hit by artillery fire, including Novodarivka, Huliaipole, Huliaipilske, Novoandriivka, Stepove, Kamianske (Zaporizhzhia Oblast); Nikopol (Dnipropetrovsk Oblast); Zolota Balka, Dudchany, Beryslav, Antonivka, Bilozerka, Veletenske (Kherson Oblast) and the city of Kherson. At the same time, the Defence Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct the offensive operation on the Melitopol and Berdiansk fronts, consolidate their positions, inflict fire damage with artillery on identified Russian targets, and carry out counter-battery measures.

During the day, the Air Force of the Defence Forces carried out eight strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment of the Russians. Ukrainian defenders destroyed four reconnaissance UAVs of operational-tactical level. Units of Rocket Forces and Artillery hit seven Russian artillery pieces in firing positions during the day.
