An oil depot is burningIn the occupied Shakhtarsk in the Donetsk region.

This was reported by local Telegram channels and the occupying "authorities" of the city. Locals on social media share videos of the massive fire, which is visible a long distance from the scene. The occupation administration of Shakhtarsk said that the cause of the fire was allegedly a missile strike.

Explosions in the city were reported at about 3 a.m. on July 28. Subsequently, information appeared that there was a hit in the Russian oil depot.

According to preliminary information, no one was allegedly injured in the fire. Videos shared on social media show powerful flames visible from afar.

Emergency services are currently working at the scene. Firefighters are trying to put out the flames.

Shakhtarsk is a city of regional subordination, the administrative center in the Donetsk region. It is part of the Shakhtarsk agglomeration.

The village is located 50 kilometers east of Donetsk city. The city has been under the control of Russian forces and their controlled groups since 2014.

Recall that the Defense Forces of Ukraine on July 27 liberated the village of Staromaiorske in the south of Donetsk.

The village, which was occupied by the Russians during a full-scale invasion, is located on the border with the Zaporizhzhia region.
