Kryvyi Rih: Russian missile hit 9-storey building and educational institution, civilian killed, people may be under rubble

Russian forces have attacked Kryvyi Rih using two ballistic missiles: one hit a residential high-rise building, and the other hit an educational institution. Quote from Klymenko: "Kryvyi Rih. The Russians attacked the city with two missiles. One missile hit the four-story building of the educational institution.

There are probably people under the rubble. Emergency workers and police are working at the scene.

The second missile destroyed the section from the fourth to the ninth floors of the residential building. A fire broke out.

As of 10:15, one person has been killed, and 10 residents have sought medical help.

Details: Rescue workers are currently putting out the fire and clearing the debris. Later, during a national 24/7 joint newscast, Klymenko reported that the missile strike had killed two people and injured 20 others.

He added that about five to seven people are trapped under the rubble.

Yurii Ihnat, Speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that the Russians probably attacked using ballistic missiles.

Pershyi Miskyi ["The first in the city"], Kryvyi Rih media, says that explosions rang out even before the air-raid siren was issued. Flats from the third to the ninth floors were destroyed in one of the entrances of a residential high-rise building. In addition, windows in neighbouring houses and premises were shuttered by the blast wave.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that on the morning of 31 July, the Russians bombarded Kryvyi Rih and Kherson.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "Residential buildings, a university building and an intersection were hit. Unfortunately, people are killed and wounded. There may be people under the rubble.

My condolences to all those who have lost their loved ones because of Russian terror." Details: The president stressed that rescue workers and all necessary services are responding at the scene. He also added that he had already held talks with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Security Service of Ukraine.

"In recent days, the enemy has been stubbornly hitting the cities and the city centres. They are attacking civilian objects and housing. But this terror will not frighten us or break us.

We are working and saving our people," Zelenskyy concluded.
